21/08/2010 The Madeleine Falls (Yate)

We love Prony which lies at the south end of the territory, a landscape with the colors green and red laterite to the forest where the trees growing on it quite a contrast that we do not stop to see where we go .. At daybreak the weather was sunny we decided to just leave all four together as a family. Because usually we go with the SCO. We ship our stuff in the car and before we take the wheel levels, water filling and oil, you never know. Direction de la Madeleine Falls is 58 km from Nouméa, 1:15 trip, our car is not fast but above the road is in a winding valley.

At the entrance of the falls we pay 800 francs for the preservation of this unique and fragile ecosystem containing natural heritage which most species are endemic. Access to the falls is a 6-minute walk, stunning fall in a natural setting. After the falls, walk 2.8 km in the heart of the botanical reserve to see many plant species and the remains of the Mesozoic era. Within the reserve is prohibited picnic and swim, but a little further there is a campsite Netcha appointing returning to 500 francs per adult and free for children - 12 years. Stroll over we hit the road in reverse, and Sunday was cleaning the house and then relax in the garden for some, for others reading ....

Released 06/08/2010 notou in Yate

In return for this new month, yesterday we were at the fair of gervolino, the school of my second daughter. This year there is no picture fault of goodwill, I have not had time to do because we did not have enough people to the stands and my husband who usually is present, it has returned home. The girls and I went back to 23 hours without having nothing won the lottery, bingo and tambola ...

After a short night, departure and go to the casino has 08 hours of the casting we will carpool as our car will not climb the mountain passes. We are 16 in total, half from the association and one of my job. Time and splendid landscape with sunrise. We arrive in the mission Touaourou, a tribe of Yate, unfortunately there is therefore a mourning custom and tradition that we respect this wish, the cars slow down and must not exceed the procession. We are received by a member of the tribe, there is no problem to photograph and watch birds instead we talk to them about the survival of birds. After two hours of walking and photographing some species such as Notou the head (which must be protected because hunted), the lorrikets, Ospreys and frigates, it was time for the lunch break, sandwich and coffee. After lunch the weather has turned a little gray, but the tide is out and we take the opportunity to explore the reef with its wonders more or less dangerous. But with us, we have my boss and the trainer of volunteers CIE which shows the species has not to touch. Time has really degraded we receive even the heavy rain, we house and we decide to come back because those who know the area well we are assured that we should not delay. Indeed we found ourselves in the mist to descend. Stop in the store St Michel, the place milkshakes and crafts. Nice day for a thrill.
